How to use and activate Click to Pay

What benefits Click to pay offers and how I can activate it

What Is Click to Pay?

Click to Pay is a secure online payment feature included with your card. It allows you to complete purchases on participating websites without entering your full card number, expiry date, or CVC each time.

Visa manages Click to Pay and stores your card details securely – they are never shared directly with the merchant. The feature works similarly to contactless payments in physical stores, but for online purchases.

Tip: Once Click to Pay is active, your payment details are available across devices and browsers – no need to re-enter them on every website.

How to Activate Click to Pay

You activate Click to Pay per card directly in Candis.

Step 1 – Open the card Log in to Candis Web and open the card for which you want to activate Click to Pay.

Step 2 – Check the Click to Pay status In the card view, you'll see the Click to Pay section. It shows whether Click to Pay is currently active or inactive for that card.

Step 3 – Activate Click to Pay If Click to Pay is inactive, enable it using the toggle. You can switch Click to Pay on or off for each card individually.

How Click to Pay Works at Checkout

Click to Pay creates a secure online payment profile linked to your card and either your email address or mobile number. Visa stores this profile and uses it to process payments without requiring manual card entry.

Here's what happens during checkout:

Step 1 – Select Click to Pay On a website that supports Click to Pay, select the Click to Pay icon as your payment option instead of entering your card number.

Step 2 – Enter your email address or mobile number Enter the email address or mobile number linked to your card. Visa uses this to identify your payment profile.

Step 3 – Confirm your identity You'll receive a one-time code via email or SMS. Enter this code to confirm that you are the one initiating the payment.

Step 4 – Select your card Once verified, Visa displays your Click to Pay-enabled cards, recognisable by their card design and last four digits. Select the card you want to use.

Step 5 – Complete the payment Confirm the payment and checkout is complete.

What Happens Behind the Scenes?

Visa retrieves your saved payment profile and securely prepares the transaction. Your full card number is never displayed to the merchant or entered on the website.

Instead, Visa uses a network token – a protected version of your card details that is unique to that purchase or device. This adds an extra layer of protection and reduces the risk of card fraud or misuse.

Note: The email address or mobile number you enter at checkout must match the details linked to your card. Otherwise, Visa cannot identify your payment profile.

Example

You're shopping at an online store that supports Click to Pay. Instead of entering your card details manually, you select Click to Pay, enter your email address, and confirm the one-time code. Your card appears automatically – you confirm the payment and you're done. No searching for your card, no typing errors.
