In this article, you learn how to confirm your sign-in to Candis in the browser by push notification in the Candis app. You also learn what to do if the notification does not arrive. For an overview of all 2FA methods, see the article Set up and use two-factor authentication.
How two-factor authentication with the Candis app works
Two-factor authentication (2FA) protects your sign-in with email address and password with a second factor. With the recommended method, Candis sends a push notification to the Candis app on your smartphone.
As soon as you use the Candis app and have signed in there once, Candis automatically activates sign-in by push notification as the second factor. You do not need to change any additional setting in Candis.
Requirements
To confirm your sign-in in the browser by push notification, you need the following:
You have installed the Candis app on your smartphone.
You use at least version 2.1 of the Candis app.
You have signed in to the Candis app once with your email address and password.
You have access to your smartphone when you sign in to Candis in the browser.
You have enabled push notifications for the Candis app in your smartphone settings.

Security: Tap Reject if you did not trigger the displayed sign-in attempt. This prevents someone else from signing in with your credentials. Then reset your password with Forgot password (you can find the instructions under Forgot password).
Alternative method if your smartphone is not available
If you do not have access to your smartphone or the Candis app, use an alternative method. You can find the steps under Use an alternative method.

Tip: Use this alternative only if you cannot use the Candis app right now. Sign-in by push notification remains the recommended method.
