New document layout in Candis

Understand how the new document layout works and which benefits it offers

Written by Franziska Kaiser

In this article, you will learn what changes with the new layout for processing documents and where to find your familiar features.

What changes at a glance

The new layout creates more space for the processing form and the document and keeps the view uncluttered. There are two key changes:

  • The fixed area on the left side of the processing view is removed. You now open the features from this area on demand via a flexible panel.

  • The credit card transaction now appears directly in the processing form.

The new layout only changes the position of the features. Candis does not remove any feature and does not change how any feature works.

Opening features via the flexible panel

In the previous layout, Candis displayed the additional features permanently in a fixed area on the left side of the processing view.

In the new layout, this fixed area is removed. Instead, you open each additional feature on demand via the icons in the top bar of the processing view.

Candis shows the matching panel and hides it again as soon as you no longer need it.

Via the flexible panel, you can access these features, among others:

  • History & comments – all actions on the current document as well as your team's comments.

  • Relationships – the documents you have linked to the current document.

  • Manage access – the control over who can view and edit the current document.

The flexible panel works the same way for documents and for transactions.

Additonal: Credit card transactions in the processing form

In the new layout, Candis shows the data of a credit card transaction (short: transaction) directly in the processing form as soon as you have linked an invoice to a transaction.

An invoice is a document that you need to book. This way, you see the document, the invoice data, and the transaction in one place.
