Foreign Currency Fees (TX Fee) from Pliant in Candis

When you pay in a foreign currency with a Pliant credit card, Pliant charges a 2% foreign currency fee (TX fee). In this article, you will learn how Pliant calculates this fee, how it appears in Candis, and what to consider during processing.

How and when does Pliant calculate the foreign currency fee?

At the end of each month, Pliant calculates the total amount of all foreign currency fees incurred during the billing period.

  • Pliant sums up all 2% fees from foreign currency transactions.

  • Pliant debits the total amount directly from the stored customer account.

  • After the debit, Pliant issues a consolidated invoice for the fees.

Candis automatically synchronizes this invoice.

How foreign currency fees appear in Candis

The billing consists of two components: a transaction and a related invoice.

1. Transaction in Candis

As soon as Pliant debits the fees, the payment appears in Candis as a regular transaction.

  • The transaction runs through a dedicated card.

  • You can review and post the transaction like any other credit card transaction.

  • The transaction summarizes all foreign currency fees for one month. You do not see a breakdown per original payment.

You can request a detailed breakdown at any time via Candis Support.

2. Automatic invoice synchronization

After the debit, Pliant creates an invoice for the total amount of foreign currency fees.

  • Candis automatically synchronizes this invoice.

  • You can find the invoice in the invoice inbox, linked to the corresponding fee debit.

  • You can review, assign accounts, and approve the invoice as usual.

This process ensures that all fees are properly documented and posted.

The “Pliant Platform Fee Card”

All foreign currency fees run through a separate, dedicated card: the Pliant Platform Fee Card.

This card is used exclusively for processing Pliant fees.

Key features of the Pliant Platform Fee Card

  • Merchant name: Always “Pliant GmbH”

  • Ownership: The card is linked to the Owner in Pliant.

  • Administration: If the Owner changes, you can transfer the card to the new responsible person.

  • Restricted usage: You can use the card exclusively for Pliant fees. Other payments are not possible.

When you open the Pliant Platform Fee Card, you see an overview of all previously charged foreign currency fees.

Use the card overview to quickly track monthly fee developments.
