Visa categorizes merchants based on their Merchant Category Code (MCC), which describes a merchant's primary business.

The Candis credit card is a business credit card for all employees, intended to be used exclusively for the company's business expenses, either in the office or while traveling.

Certain merchant types are therefore not allowed as they are more suited to private spending. This limits the use of the Candis credit card for private purposes.

In addition, some merchant types are restricted due to an increased risk of fraud.

Please find below a brief overview of the merchant types that are not allowed:

  • Drugstores or pharmacies

  • Cigar stores and stands

  • Gambling

  • Trading and other payment providers

  • Adult entertainment

  • Physical therapy and massage providers

  • Telemarketing

  • Medical offices / Hospitals

  • Automated fuel dispensers

โ€‹Payment attempts to these merchant types are declined immediately.

The declined transaction can be viewed in Candis in real-time, together with decline reason.
