Integration Type DATEV Adjacent

Export types and account numbers without strict DATEV rules

Written by Thomas Heudecker

What does “DATEV Adjacent” mean?

DATEV Adjacent is intended for systems that work in a DATEV-related way but do not adopt all DATEV standards. You use it if you need DATEV-like exports and validations but want more flexibility in formats and account structures.

Distinction from the DATEV Standard

  • Different validation and export logic: You work with your own export types and validate account numbers with fewer restrictions.

Export Logic

  • Reuse of DATEV Export Types: All exports are based on DATEV export types.

  • Objective: You receive DATEV-like structures without being bound to all detailed rules of the standard.

Validation of Account Numbers

DATEV Adjacent validates account numbers less restrictively than the DATEV Standard:

  • Numeric: Account numbers consist exclusively of digits (0–9).

  • Wider number range: You can use account numbers in the range 10000–999999999.

  • No first-digit logic: There is no DATEV-specific logic for the first digit.

Terminology Overview

  • DATEV Adjacent: DATEV-related working method with reduced requirements.

  • DATEV Standard: Original DATEV rules and formats with stricter validation.

  • Export type: Specific format/profile for a data export.

Use Case Example

  • Flexible integration scenario: A downstream system expects DATEV-like CSV structures but does not require strict first-digit logic. You export using Adjacent export types.
